Milano: The Art of Espresso
Housed in a stunning brick heritage building and steps away from landmarks such as the TIFF Bell Lightbox and Much Music in Toronto’s bustling theatre district, Vancouver’s world-renowned Milano Coffee recently opened its first location outside its home base of British Columbia.
Milano Espresso Bar (please click on photo to enlarge and see slideshow) is the city’s first espresso tasting bar, with five espressos on tap daily. Milano offers Torontonians and visitors alike the opportunity to enjoy the award-winning espresso blends and single origin coffees that have garnered Milano Coffee world-wide recognition from the birthplace of espresso.
Following Italian design principles and melding tradition with modern elements, registered interior designer Michele Bertussi has created a space that is simultaneously fresh and warm thanks to ample ambient light and the use of natural materials such as classic Carrera marble, natural wood custom millwork, corrugated steel and original brick walls that have been whitewashed.
Pink Artemide Nur light fixtures and Mediterranean Aqua blue Pedrali chairs infuse splashes of colour to the bright room, gracefully enhancing the espresso-drinking experience.
The espresso bar itself is the crown prince of the space. Set beneath a stunning wood slat ceiling encasement, the bar makes the room uber- stylish yet cosy and welcoming.
Thanks to Milano Coffee’s award-winning coffee-blending traditions, gorgeous sleek interiors, and outstanding customer service, Milano Espresso Bar takes the Italian art form of espresso blending in Toronto to a whole new level.
