Buenos Aires: The Lui Bolin Exhibit
Beijing-based artist Liu Bolin‘s series, “Hiding in the City”, was conceived after his eviction from and subsequent destruction of his studio in Beijing in 2005.
As a result, Liu Bolin started to wear the town as a backdrop, painting himself to hide and blend in with the landscape in constant flux.
This artist employs photography as a means to explore the Chinese national identity while silently protesting its government. (Click on photo to enlarge and see slideshow).
Liu Bolin’s work is currently on view at the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Buenos Aires until July 4th 2015.
