An Italian Fairytale
Set in a downtown Toronto historical mansion built by famed architect George Horace Gooderham, Osteria Dei Ganzi is a dazzling restaurant offering authentic Italian cuisine in a charming European atmosphere reminiscent of Italy’s glamorous golden era.
It took several months of painstaking attention for Metropolis Living Team to restore the mansion’s original handcrafted wood detail, soaring arches, stained-glass windows and brass fixtures.
The restaurant is located on the first floor of the original 1891 mansion on 504 Jarvis Street. Throughout the space, the restaurant walls serve as a fitting exhibition to Italian-themed murals and paintings by Toronto artist Hajar Moradi. An airy solarium bar looks out onto the stylish wraparound patio.
On Sunday, March 30th, Ganzi’s modern-vintage décor served as the stylish backdrop for The Italian Way, a collaborative event that saw Osteria dei Ganzi, One Heart Films & Ferré Sposa join forces to recreate an elegant Tuscan-style wedding reception.
Surrounded by the classic beauty of Osteria dei Ganzi’s premises, Ferré Sposa, one of Toronto’s newest bridal boutiques, choreographed an intimate wedding-themed fashion show to showcase the latest trends in wedding gown design for invited guests.
Carrying heavy-hitters like Alfred Sung, Lesposa, Sophia Tolli, and Anjolique, amongst other Canadian and international designers, Ferré Sposa has the perfect outfit for every bride-to-be. Impeccable dresses and modern accessories were complemented by the skillful work of Muah Beauty’s creative make-up team.
Fashion aside, Osteria dei Ganzi’s delectable menu and cocktail tasting and the mouth-savouring sweet table by The Cocoa Cakery were fitting grace notes to this romantic spectacle, leaving guests with a taste of Italy’s la dolce vita right here in the heart of Toronto.
