Cluny Bistro & Boulangerie
Located in Toronto’s trendy Distillery District, Cluny Bistro & Boulangerie is one of the hottest new restaurants in the city.
Opened last June by the Distillery Restaurant Corp. (owners of El Catrin, Pure Spirits, and The Boiler House) at the old Tank House, Cluny is a declaration of love to France’s bistro culture.
Upon entering its doors, you enter a neo-Parisian world designed by the incredible Munge Leung, who found the inspiration in the dining rooms of Paris. Marble, bespoke furnishing, and patterned floors are some of the elements that create an enchanting and surprisingly intimate atmosphere in the 11,000 square-foot space, divided into a pâtisserie, bar, gorgeous formal dining room, and a wraparound patio.
The kitchen is run by executive chef Paul Benallick (formerly of Auberge du Pommier and the Trump Hotel). Benallick offers traditional dishes such as brie-slathered brioche, French onion soup, and six different steak-frites platters–or updated bistro dishes such as Buffalo sweetbreads and chili-ginger frog legs.
Thanks to its beautiful interiors, gracious staff, and perfectly executed dishes, Cluny Bistro & Boulangerie is a must-visit restaurant that effortlessly redefines the classic Parisian bistro experience in the heart of Old Town Toronto.
